Find a home for your treasures.
The Memory Agency by Exhibit Coach
You’re the family curator, the memory keeper. You know if your family history was in a museum it would make the national story richer, more accurate, more truthful. But who can you trust to steward it?
You’ve accomplished something amazing. You know some museum or archives somewhere is going to want your stuff and your papers. But where to even start?
You don’t know if any cultural institution is really going to want your stuff, but you want to know one way or the other, so you can make other plans. You want peace of mind.
You need a plan.
You need the Memory Agency.
The Memory Agency assesses your objects and provides expert, honest advice on what to do with them.
Our principal, Suzanne Fischer, has two decades of experience in history museums as a curator and director and knows what museums and archives will and will not acquire. She will help you go through your family heirlooms, papers, and photos and document their stories—and even identify things you might not think museums would want, such as everyday objects.
She’ll provide a thoughtful list of potential homes for your objects based on her knowledge of the field, and will connect you to the right people. If she doesn’t think your objects will find a home at a cultural institution, she’ll help you develop a different plan.
What a relief to know the future of your special objects!
